BLOOD DONATION CAMP ON 18TH OCTOBER 2012.

Blood Donation Camp.....another Service Activity.

The Blood Donation Camp was held in Sri Revana Siddheshwara Institute of Technology, Chickajalla, off International Airport Road on Thursday 18th October 2012. Chairman of the Institute and Ex-Minister Shri. Krishnappa inaugurated the Camp. Lions Blood Bank and Nimhans made elaborate arrangement to collect the blood. We are happy to mention that totally 136 Units of Blood was collected. The club provided Fruiti Juice, Biscuits and Banana to every Donor. The club spent about Rs.10,000/- from its Service Account.

"Bollywood Classics" Musical Night - Fund raiser

A Fund raising programme on the eve of Centenary Year of Bollywood cinema is been organized for all.

The programme was successful in spite of Dawn to Dusk Bharat Bundh. 400 people enjoyed the soulful music rendered by Hiten Mehta and Hamid Khan. The Dinner, served in the 20 minutes interval, was too good. The programme was formally inaugurated by the District Governor Lion C.K.Krishnamurthy,pmjf. President Lion Chandraprakash Raju thanked all the Donors and honoured the Main Donors by giving them a shawl and bouquet.

Dear Donor,

Lions Club of Bangalore Kumarapark, established in 1979, is carrying out various service activities for the benefit of poor and needy for the last 33 years. Our club then established Lions Kumarapark Trust in 2006 and is a duly registered body. We approached Ravi Kirloskar Charitable Trust who are running a Ravi Kirloskar charitable Hospital in Peenya Industrial Estate, 1^st stage, opposite Volvo industries, Bangalore 560058.

They were kind to allot us 5000 Sft of vacant land, on nominal lease amount, in their compound of 5 Acres. We then pulled up all the resources and constructed Artificial Limb Centre of 4000 Sft at the completed cost of Rs.60 lakhs. The project was inaugurated by His Holiness Dr.Sri Sri Sri Sivakumara swamy of Siddaganga Mutt, Tumkur in the presence of Lions District Vice Governor Lion S.Ramachandran, pmjf and our International Director Lion V.V.Krishna Reddy, pmjf.

The first camp was conducted on 4^th December 2010 wherein 84 poor and needy people were screened but only 54 were provided with artificial leg. Rest all the cases needed surgical corrections and were directed to specialized hospitals in Bangalore. The centre is well equipped with required men materials and machinery to serve the needy. We are, therefore, in better position to serve the poor throughout the coming years. The camps are conducted essentially to create awareness in the public.

The Lions Kumarapark Trust has obtained exemptions for donations under 80-G of Income Tax laws. The artificial limbs are provided free of charge to the poor and needy people. We earnestly appeal for generous donations in the multiples of Rs. 5,000/- since it is the cost of one artificial limb. Your donation would bring one physically challenged man/woman to be on his/her own legs and start earning livelihood to join the mainstream of the society.
